Our Story: The Proposal Pt. 2

The Hike to Laurel Falls 

July 27th, 2017

The second to last day was hiking day! I asked my family if we can go to a waterfall on this trip and we all agreed to go to Laurel Falls. I had no idea what was waiting for me at the end of this hike...

At this exact moment where I took this photo, I was asking him to go to bottom of the waterfall so I can take pictures for my blog. He insisted we waited for my parents, and I was confused and I couldn't wait (of course I was being impatient lol). So I said, "alright I'm going down there just come with me" so we did. 

He took this picture and several others before my parents were on their way. I was completely oblivious to any of it, but he was acting sort of strange the entire time. All I kept saying was c'mon let's go on this rock to take a picture together in front of the waterfall! And as soon as we got on the rock that I knew was perfect for a picture, he gave the camera to my dad and my dad started to record without me knowing. I stood there smiling while his arms were around me. He whispered in my ears, "Remember how I told you that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you" and in that moment I saw my mom with my dad and all the tourists started to spread apart and watch us...and I knew it was going to happen. As my family watched from the cliff above, my parents standing there taking pictures, all I could see and hear was him....nothing else mattered. It was perfect. Everything was perfect. I don't even remember how he asked me "would you marry me" because all I did was cry and say yes over and over again. It was such beautiful moment, the waterfall right next to us and the environment so serene and peaceful. Me not having my nails or makeup and hair done didn't even matter..... nothing else mattered but just him and I.
